ICOFVR (International Coalition for Overseas Filipinos’ Voting Rights)

A global and home-based lobbying group of Filipino Community leaders and concerned individuals who pursued the passage of an overseas absentee voting law, which was finally realized, after 16 long years with the signing of RA 9189 on February 13, 2003. ICOFVR-KSA was instrumental in bringing in the 12th Congress Bicameral Consultation Committee to Riyadh headed by Senator Angara and members of the Senate and Congress last February 2002. Convenors all played a major role in registration, voting and counting process from August 2003 till May 16, 2004 at the PHILEMB.
